As Pilates has become more widespread, its interpretations have become increasingly varied. Many facilities around the world have changed and adapted Joseph Pilates' original exercises. The resulting regimes have lost the precision, fluidity and focus of the original system of exercises, and the valuable supervision by an experienced trainer is often forsaken.
Not at True Pilates NZ! Here we continue the teachings of Joseph Pilates, true to his intentions and unchanged by passing fads or attitudes. Essentially, this is a movement system that uses focused exercises to increase strength, flexibility, stamina and concentration. Exercises are carried out on spring-driven equipment as well as on floor mats. Pilates lengthens and strengthens muscles to sculpt the body, increase circulation, improve flexibility and relax both mind and body from the inside out. Joseph's method has proven to be reliable, safe and effective for all people, regardless of age, gender or stamina.
